Shamrock, Rose and Thistle

This series takes a look at folk songs and singers in Ireland, England and Scotland. It will highlight versions of songs sung in all three countries including the Child Ballads. Unique styles of singing like Sean-nós in Ireland and Scotland will be featured as well as harmony singing in England. There'll be Waulking songs from Scotland and the contribution of travellers to folk song in Ireland, England and Scotland. Throughout the series some of the best and most famous songsters will be featured along with some lesser-known artists.
