Scientists in NUIG get grant to study ways of predicting whether volcanic ash cloud will effect air travel. Drivetime spoke to Professor Colin O'Dowd from NUI Galway.
Hilda has been unemployed for 18 months. She returned to Ireland with a romantic notice of living in a cottage in the west of Ireland. Although she is unemployed has no regrets about coming back. Yesterday she queued for one hour and twenty minutes in the freezing intermittent rain. She eventually got into the building at 8.15 p.m. By the time she got to the counter she was told all the places on her course had gone. She wondered why if there are so many people applying for these courses that you can’t make an individual appointment.
