Education minister Ruairi Quinn must often wish that he’d never even heard of SUSI. It’s of course the much heralded online grant applications system which promised so much but has so far delivered very little. So far, only 3,000 students out of 66,000 have received their grants. The continuing delays in applications and approvals for student grants under the SUSI grant scheme recieved a large number of calls to Liveline today . Ann, Monica, Marie and Emily all spoke about their frustration at having to send multiple copies of forms , bank statements and other information to the applications office. The length of time spent holding on the phone lines was also a cause for annoyance from callers.
