On the evening of Tuesday, May 13th, the eggs started hatching, and we now have eight nestlings in the nestbox.     These are our three finalists from over 550 entrants to the John Murray Show/Saturday Night Show emerging music competition. Chanele McGuinness, Gary Showbiz and The New Transmission will battle it out in our live Studio 8 final on the John Murray Show on Thursday, May 29th for that coveted slot on the Saturday Night Show on May 31st.

    At the age of eight, Jason Smyth from Derry was diagnosed with a genetic eye condition called Stargardts Disease which affects his central vision. Studgardts disease is genetic – his grandfather had suffered from it. Gradually his vision reduced to roughly ten percent of an average person’s eyesight. Whilst that may have slowed many of us down it has not prevented Jason from becoming a double Olympic champion at two Olympic Games, double world champion and the fastest Paralympian on the planet.
