As the hunt continues for the gang who murdered Garda Adrian Donohoe it’s emerged that Uzi sub machine guns used by detectives on escort duty were withdrawn from service last march. It’s been claimed that the machine gun acted as a major deterrent to criminals targeting cash in transit.
