Well Pope Francis certainly saved the best till last on his visit to Brazil, waiting until he was on the plane home to make his most strident comments yet on a number of crucial religious issues. Speaking to press on the flight back to Rome yesterday the Pope addressed the controversial topics of women priests and homosexuality in the Catholic Church. Michael Kelly of the Irish Catholic has been listening to what he’s had to say and he joined Myles this morning.
The papers are calling it Popacabana Beach – that’s after 3.2 million people packed onto Rio’s famous Copacabana Beach to hear Pope Francis say mass on the final day of his visit to Brazil.
