    The chief executive of Eirgrid has said that putting electricity cables underground for the controversial GridWest connector project could cost a 'multiple' of having pylons overground.  Fintan Sly was speaking on Morning Ireland after Eirgrid announced plans for a possible underground route between points in Roscommon and County Mayo. The decision to investigate underground cabling follows growing protests by anti-pylon groups across the country.
