Is there a particular iconic speech that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end? This Saturday, three secondary school students will go head to head in a competition delivering their favourite famous speech. The Matheson Junior Debating National Mace – in which over 500 students took part this year – is a competition open to all junior cert students in Irish schools which seeks to identify the country’s very best young debaters.
