In a recent letter to the papers, the director and co-founder of Trust, Alice Leahy said Christmas time concern for homeless people is welcome and predictable but said we should remember it as an all year round problem. An action group for St. Catherine's Community Centre in Dublin 8 launched a campaign earlier this week against proposed changes to the Foyer youth homeless service running on the premises. The service accomodates vulnerable homeless young people but last month Dublin City Council announced that the centre will become a Supported Temporary Accommodation shelter from the 22nd of August.
