    Several years ago, Gort in County Galway was one of the most prosperous towns in Ireland. A new report prepared by Teagasc has shown that unemployment and emigration rates have increased more in Gort that any other small or medium sized town in the country since 2006. With almost four in ten properties now unoccupied and 440 less people in work since 2006, our reporter Brian O’Connell visited the town yesterday to see why it seems to have fared so badly.
