    To Cork where the Cork City Manager Tim Lucey has urged people to stay out of the city centre this evening due to the potential for serious flooding which is expected in the city centre between 8 and 10pm, with high tide due just before 9pm.     Limerick Flooding

    Limerick Flooding

    Limerick experienced some of the worst flooding in its history over the weekend resulting in the displacement of up to 1000 people from their homes. Minister Brian Hayes is due to visit the areas worst hit this morning amid calls for emergency Government funding to assist the people affected. Now, high tide was expected in Limerick about an hour ago, and last night and this morning Brian O’Connell has been on the scene speaking with those impacted and assessing the damage.
