The Dolls' Hospital
The Dolls’ Hospital has been a Dublin institution for over seventy years. Thousands of much loved dolls and teddy bears have passed through its doors in varying degrees of disrepair, to be returned to their owners as good as new after a short stay in the emergency ward. Colette Kinsella explored the history of the hospital and some of the toys – including a doll caught up in the Easter Rising of 1916 (pictured with its owner, Gertie Kiersey). Every toy has a story to tell!
