Relative Notes

Relative Notes is a new series which looks at the way music is often something shared by brothers and sisters. There's a special musical understanding between people who have grown up in the same family - you could call it sibling harmony rather than sibling rivalry!  

For the series, Bernadette Comerford has been talking to instrumentalists, singers and composers from across the musical spectrum.  Among them are the Scottish band The Proclaimers (Craig and Charlie Reid, who aren't just brothers - they are identical twins).  Later in the series we'll be meeting traditional players Nollaig Casey and Máire Ní Chathasaigh; pianist Una Hunt and her sister the violinist Fionnuala Hunt; and the internationally renowned piano duo Katia and Marielle Labèque.
