Gerry Robinson, son of a Donegal carpenter, whose family emigrated to London in the 1950s, talks with Mary Harte about his passion for wood.
He is a former chairman of Granada Television, BSkyB, ITN and the Arts Council in England, but whenever he can he retreats to his Donegal estate where he has planted thousands of native trees, makes furniture, railway gates, bridges and even chess sets.
