Programme 1: 15th September 2004
Irish emigrants in London. We hear from young
people in 1984 at the builders' hiring fair in
Cricklewood in the early mornings and also from Irish
people involved in the sex industry in Soho. In 2000,
we meet elderly Irishmen in a Kilburn pub.

Programme 2: 22nd September 2004
Surprising stories, when interviews take a
totally unexpected direction. In Antrim Town, in 2002,
a middle-aged woman talks about having once been
married to a homosexual man. In Galway city in 1991, a
man talks about his drug smuggling days in Europe.

Programme 3: 29th September 2004
Germany. From 1995, we meet Irish workers in
former East Germany during the post-unification
building boom.

Programme 4: 6th October 2004
Cork prison. At Christmas 1992, at the gates
of the prison, visitors talk about their experiences
and a man and his wife tals about how they got over her
infidelity while he was in prison.

Programme 5: 20th October 2004
Deserted wives. One day in 1989, we meet
women queuing at a post office in West Tallaght in
Dublin for deserted wives payment. One woman talks of
her ex-husband's obsession with blue movies. Another
talks about having been married to an HIV positive man.

Programme 6: 27th October 2004
Pubs. During a tour of the counties of
Ireland in 2002, we meet groups of people in pubs in
Thurles, Co Tipperary and in Kilkenny City.

Programme 7: 3rd November 2004
New York. In 1986, young Irish illegal
immigrants describe living and working in New York City.

In 1999, 92-year-old May Hannafy looks back
on her life and her childhood in a Dublin tenement.

Prtostitutes. From 1997, on the streets of Dublin with heroin-addicted prostitutes.

O'Gorman Talks of 1 December 2004 marks World Aids Day with an interview recorded in 1992 with Rose, a Dublin heroin addict, a few weeks before she died.
