The role of the singer has changed down the years, according to presenter Jack O'Brien. But the voices of performers on record, from years gone by, each tell their own tale.
O'Brien On Song tries to capture those stories and vocal glories, past and present, on both vinyl and CD. And many of the selections date back to the era of the predecessor of the old 45 - the 78.
A big fan of the singer and the song, each week Jack plays a selection of some of his own favourite recordings.
