Programme 4: Julie Feeney
Julie Feeney will be the focus of the fourth programme in Mytunes - Thursday December 20th at 9pm on RTÉ Radio 1.
For the last programme in the series, Mytunes meets with Galwegian Julie Feeney - a composer, a singer and and a songwriter. Her debut album '13 songs' won 'Irish Album of the Year - Choice Music Prize' in 2006 and was released to rave reviews in Ireland, the U.K. and in the New York Times. She played nine instruments and sang all of the vocals on the album which was self-composed, self-produced and self-funded. She has composed instrumental music for the Ulster Orchestra, the Crash Ensemble and various contemporary dance productions. This year she also conducted the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra string section in a concert where she orchestrated the scores. She previously worked as a professional choral singer and toured and recorded all over the world with various ensembles.
She is currently working on her 2nd album.
