Convent Accommodation

Derek spoke recently to a friend who had stayed in a convent whilst in London. She wasn't a nun, but was part of a growing community who choose to stay in convents and monasteries whilst holidaying.

We're trying to find out about some of the convents, monasteries and abbeys where you've stayed - your recommendations! If you've stayed in a religious residence that you'd like to tell us about, e-mail or tweet @MooneyShow.

Some of the ones we've come across so far are the 'God Pods' of Glenstal Abbey, the site Monastery Stays (for religious residences in Italy) and the book Goodnight And God Bless, which is a guide to accomodation in convents and monasteries.

But what can you do to HELP sell your house - apart from go to an estate agent. How do you make your home more 'aesthetically pleasing'?

Waterford Whispers News

It's not Friday, it's not Mooney Goes Wild, but sometimes we get a breaking wildlife story that we have to respond to immediately, and today is one of those days.

As you might have read recently, Gardai and customs officers in Cork seized a massive consignment of fake Ugg boots, valued at up to 1.5 million euro.

Ugg boots are a brand of comfortable walking boots, very popular with teenage girls, and twenty-something women. They are generally light brown in colour, fleece lined, and they come originally from Australia.

The seizure of this huge consignment of Ugg boots got significant publicity. However, what wasn't publicised so well was the devastating impact that fake Ugg boots have on the tiny population of the endangered wild Ugg.

For more on this, we're joined by our newly-appointed special news correspondent, Paddy Browne, from the satirical Waterford Whispers News...
