Miriam Meets... Sr. Stanislaus Kennedy and Sr. Sile Wall
This week Miriam meets close friends Sr. Stanislaus Kennedy and Sr. Sile Wall. Sr. Stan - as she is better known - has for decades been a tireless campaigner for social justice.
She is the founder of the homeless charity Focus Ireland, meditation and spirituality centre the Sanctuary and the Immigrant Council of Ireland. Sr. Sile Wall is also a Sister of Charity who became a close friend and colleague of Sr Stan when they both worked with pioneering Bishop Peter Birch on establishing social services in Kilkenny in the 60s.
Having worked and lived together for many years Sr. Stan and Sr. Sile discuss with Miriam how neither of their vocations came as 'a call from God in the night', their enduring friendship and working relationship, the shocking revelations of the Ryan Report into abuse in religious-run homes and institutions, and Sr. Stan's new book 'Moments of Stillness'.
