Miriam meets.... Padraig O Ceidigh and his daughter Emer

This week, Miriam O'Callaghan talks to founder of Aer Arann Padraig O Ceidigh and his daughter Emer, CEO of Foinse the Irish language newspaper.

They tell Miriam about their family life in Spiddal. Padraig's parents both emigrated from Galway and met in London where they married. They returned to Spiddal before Padraig was born. Emer remembers her lategrandfather well and still has a very special relationship with her grandmother.

They explore where the entrepreneurial streak comes in the family and Emer tells Miriam about how she survives in a business as a young woman who is also CEO of the company.

January 17, 2012 was a turning point in both their lives. Padraig suffered a serious heart attack and thanks to a number of fortunate co-incidences, he survived the attack. It has changed them and their relationship. The most public change has been Padraig's decision to step down as Chairman of Aer Arann. They both talk about stress and how to manage it.

Padraig is Chairperson of the judges in this year's Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year competition. He talks about the importance of an entrepreneurial community as a source of advice as being in business can sometimes be a lonely place.

They chose Sally Gardens by Bobby Gardiner; Up Where We Belong by Joe Cocker and Jennifer Warnes and Galway Girl by Mundy and Sharon Shannon
