Dole Queue Entrepreneurs
We talk to people who are swapping the live register for the cash register and find out about the organisation that’s helping them do it. In studio with George are John Lamb, aka Mr Bagpipes, John Donoghue of ASTEC Environmental, Leah Cullen of the Horizon School of Motoring and Lorna Coleman of First Step, an organisation which aims to help businesses who’ve been spurned by the banks to get finance.
To Tweet or Not To Tweet
We find out if Twitter and Facebook are more about not-working than networking. First, we sent Ed Prendergast to Arklow to find out if small businesses are getting involved in the Facebook phenomenon.
Then, Joan Mulvihil of the Irish Internet Association and Ruairi Browne of Kro IT Solutions talk about the pros and cons of getting your company connected on social media.
Carry On Glamping
George travels to north Leitrim to visit the Teapot Lane luxury campsite, which is the brainchild of Derval McGovern. She took the time to show George how she's bringing glamour and camping together.
The Review
Comedian Joe Rooney and the Irish Independent's Emmet Oliver are the panel for our bluffers guide - the essential guide to everything that's been happening in business news this week. Topics this time around include the recent bonanza for Paddy Powers bookmakers and the downgrading of Ireland's Standard & Poor rating.
The GAA Pitch
With Down taking on Kildare in the All-Ireland semifinal, we've asked an entrepreneur from each country to come on and pitch their business. Representing Down is Anthony Kieran from Media Lightbox, an online sharing service, and pitching for the Lily Whites is Mary Clinton from Tricky Tricksters, children's entertainers. The Tyrone manager Mickey Harte will decide the winner.
