After the death of her brother Patrick, Patrice Lim started the sad work of organising his funeral. Patrice told Damien that she was very unhappy with the way the priest dealt with her wishes for Patrick's funeral. Fr Joe McDonald - the priest in question - told Damien there was a difference of opinion between him and Patrice about how the funeral should proceed, and he was unable to go along with her choice of music, whether there should be a eulogy, and a number of other matters.
Eileen Macken spent the early years of her life in a Bethany Home and an orphanage. She never knew who her mother was. Then, two years ago, after lots of detective work, Eileen tracked down a family in Northern Ireland - the Millers - who seemed to be related to her. Eileen and the Millers were delighted, and they started to build a relationship together. But the rug was pulled from under them a few months ago, when a DNA test came back showing that Eileen was not, in fact, related to the Millers. She told Damien how disappointed she was to discover this.
