Discussion and debate with Joe Duffy

Nicola is wondering would she better on the dole than trying to keep down her job.   She feels that many people in her age group are sitting idle, but not by choice.   In her case the travel and accommodation issues involved in getting to her job mean she is earning very little money.

Brian says from next year any PAYE worker entitled to a state pension won’t receive it until they are 66.    You will have to apply for job seekers for a year and get a transitional pension until you reach the age of 67.

Jim Hennebry a financial planning partner with Irish Life rang in relation to a call he heard yesterday.     He wanted to make the point that people who take out pensions should also take control of their fund and the outcomes.     Its also important to keep in touch with the pension Advisor.

Olive was on the march yesterday, great turn out but where were the politicians???? Politicians like independent Rosin Shortall was there…..but no Enda Kenny or Eamon Gilmore who came out at the last march in 2008.

Denise wanted to tell Joe about her good Ryanair story.   Her mam became very ill on a flight, they have been told by the doctors that without the intervention my mam received (through the good work of Ryanair crew and kind passengers) mam may not have made it.
