Liveline listeners discuss the plan by Luke Ming Flanagan TD to table a Private Member's Bill in the Dail in April in support of cannabis legalisation.

Jacqui was listening to the interview with Luke Ming on the Marion Finucane show at the weekend. She says it is a disgrace on one hand that the government are putting new health warnings on packets of cigarettes and on the other hand a TD is campaigning to legalise cannabis.

Grainne Kenny, Hon. President of EURAD also wanted to express her dismay at this proposed bill. Surely the hard pressed tax payers are entitled to proper standards in our elected representatives whose salaries are paid from our over taxed incomes. The good people of Roscommon who stood in the snow to protest against the influx of headshops there are ill served by this TD.

We had several callers who supported the legalisation of cannabis, many used it for medicinal purposes.

Luke Ming Flanagan also joined the programme to reiterate his views.
