The Parochial House in Belturbet was broken into on Monday. Monsignor Michael Cooke tells Joe of his experience at the hands of 3 raiders armed with a lump hammer and knife. His housekeeper was left traumatised. Elizabeth had burglars in her premises many years ago. Two or three legally held shotguns were stolen in the raid. She tells Joe that she often thinks of her experience and the mark it left.

Vincent Hyland lives in Derrynane Co. Kerry. He is shocked to hear that Derrynane House, Daniel O'Connell's ancestoral home, is due to close for the Summer months for upgrade works. Mary owns the Derrynane Hotel. They have an entire Daniel O'Connell week organised for September. The house is vital for that weekend. Both tell Joe it's a decision that needs to be reversed.

Jillian McNulty brings the Liveline listeners some breaking news. She has just heard from Orla Tinsley that the Cystic Fibrosis drug "Kalydeco" or (Ivacaftor) is to be made available to Cystic Fibrosis sufferers in Ireland. She describes it as a dream come true.

John is a serving Garda. He says that the closure of rural Garda stations warrants a public protest. He says that local Gardai in smaller stations provide invaluable local knowledge and support. People in these areas just wont get the same level of service if they are closed.
