Liveline's legendary Funny Fridays have become a welcome antidote to the trials of modern living. Joe is joined in studio by four of Ireland's finest musical comedians to put our politicians and public personalities under the spotlight. As ever the essential ingredient, Liveline's audience, contribute their witty and hilarious observations with truly uproarious effect...

Clint Velour aka Paddy Cullivan is the lead singer with the Camembert Quartet, and a self-proclaimed expert on world affairs. He loves working on the Funny Fridays on Liveline as it allows him to sound relatively talented. He learnt the guitar from Brush Sheils on 'Anything Goes' and used to love 'Doc' Savage when he played the bad guy in 'Catch the Pigeon' so being in the same studio as his childhood heroes has made Clint even happier. As for Joe Duffy, his mentor, Clint loves him but secretly believes he has a twin with a beard whom he secretly swaps shows with when he needs time off. Clint loves the contributions of the 'Plain People of Ireland', but believes Flann O'Brien was wrong in dubbing them thus. The Irish aren't Plain. They're actually Ugly.

Brendan "Doc" Savage, firmly established as one of Ireland's funniest men has appeared at the top cabaret venues across Ireland and the UK. He has performed with the likes of Joe Dolan, Dickie Rock, The Wolfe Tones, The Dubliners, Red Hurley....need we say more!

Brendan "Brush" Shiels has enjoyed a lifetime as one of Ireland's best loved entertainers. In the late sixties Brush launched Skid Row, a Dublin trio, this band wrote songs with strong blues guitar parts and folk lyrics. Brush was the bassist, singer and songwriter for most of the tracks, while one of
the first lead vocalists was the legendary Phil Lynott, later to be replaced by the also legendary Gary Moore. It was Brush who taught Phil Lynott to play bass guitar and he was later to start the famous Thin Lizzy Band. After the success of Skid Row, Brush Shiels decided to go solo & continues to tour extensively through Ireland.

Mr. Comedy himself, Sil Fox is a professional comedian and has travelled worldwide with his class act. He entertains widely as an after dinner comedian both here and at numerous venues abroad, particularly at corporate golf classics. His comedy act has taken him to Blackpool, Isle of Man, Canary Islands, Las Vegas, Hong Kong, Capetown and New York. He has also appeared in top class shows with artists such as Dickie Rock, Red Hurley and the late Joe Dolan.
