Jelly agus Carrots

Jelly agus Carrots is an exciting new drama series for younger listeners commissioned by RTÉ Radio 1 from youth theatre writer Maeve Ingoldsby. The (occasionally) bilingual fun stars Donal O'Kelly and Sara Dillon in the title roles.

Gerry O'Brien hates his nickname Jelly, given to him by playground bullies because he's fat. He deals with his difficulties by escaping into imaginary worlds where he becomes a hero and his persecutors get what they deserve but his flights of imagination get him into trouble too! When a new ginger-haired girl moves into town and encourages him to be bolder in real life he gets into even hotter water at home, at school and with local battle-axe Mrs Darcy. His biggest problem is that no one else has seen Carrots and they think she's another figment of Jelly's over-active imagination.

The cast includes Ruth McCabe, Kevin Flood, Colette Proctor, Caitríona Ní Mhurchú, Sorcha Fox, Donncha Crowley, Seán McDonagh, Aonghus Óg McAnally and Gus McDonagh.
