Here's Johnny

Here's Johnny is a RTÉ radio sit-com about New Jersey mafia informant Johnny Schillaci who is forced to move to Ireland on a witness protection scheme with his wife Maria. In the process the F.B.I. assign Johnny a new identity, that of Irish American writer, Johnny Gilhooly. Johnny and Maria move into a leafy suburb in Terenure, Maple Close Drive, where they are immediately welcomed by their enthusiastic next door neighbours, Fiachra and Helen.

Over the course of the series Johnny is a man in conflict, trying to adapt to his new life yet tempted by his old ways. The temptation becomes more pronounced when he meets another mafia informant Vito, and realises the Irish Government has done a deal with the American authorities to take a multitude of wiseguys on the witness protection scheme.   

Appearing in the series are Morgan Jones, Ger Carey, Tara Flynn, Michael McElhatton, Deirdre Monaghan, Joe Taylor, Karl O'Neill, Collette Proctor and Karl MacDermott. The series is written by Karl MacDermott and is produced by Aidan Mathews.
