Fame

Over the summer months, Geri Maye presents Fame! on RTÉ Radio One, a new series which will explore the growing phenomenon of fame and celebrity in our society.

"We're living in a prosperous society full of confident people who are incredibly interested in fame - both in terms of being famous themselves and in finding out about the lives of the rich and famous" says Geri.   "During this series, we hope to find out why so many people are looking for fame, what fame is really all about and is living the dream all it's cracked up to be."

On programme one, Geri Maye will unveil the results of a new nationwide survey of 1,300 teenagers which the programme conducted in places including Dublin, Drogheda, Donegal, Galway, Limerick and Cork.  

We asked teenagers aged between 13 and 19 the following questions:

Do you want to be famous?   
If so,as what?
Would you leave school without your exams if you had the chance to be famous?
What famous people do you admire?
Why do you want to be famous?
Do you think you will be famous one day?
