The Teenage Years are not as dull and bland as they once were

Ever wish you were young again? Wistful for the days when everything was still ahead of you? Did opportunities pass you by?  Maybe you agree with Oscar Wilde that youth is wasted on the young.
It's often been said that there was no sex in Ireland before television. Something that's also been said is that teenagers didn't exist before the 1950's....

That's right. Not a teenager in sight. Adults? Yes. Children. Yes?  Teenagers, not a one, not before the 1950's.....

But that's a lie, says the author of a recently published book, teenagers were alive and well almost a hundred years before that.

The book in question is Teenage by Jon Savage and here to discuss the book and all matters 'teenage' are journalists Pat Coyle and John Meagher, recent graduate of the teenage years Sahar Rahmani and music journalist Karl Tsigdinos.
