Munich Air Crash Anniversary Special
On 6th February 1958, British European Airways Flight 609 crashed on its third attempt to take off from a slush-covered runway at the Munich-Riem airport in Munich.. On board were Manchester United's Busby Babes along with supporters and journalists. 23 of the 44 passengers lost their lives including Dublin's own Liam Whelan.
To mark the 50th anniversary of the crash Drivetime Sport takes a look back at the impact that the crash had on the survivors, the families of the victims and Manchester United Football Club, featuring archive audio from 1958 as well as interviews with Harry Gregg, Jack and Bobby Charlton and Liam Whelan's surviving brother Christy.
