The Entertainment Capital of the World remains in mourning this evening. Vigils are being held across Las Vegas over a day after a lone gunman rained bullets on throngs of revellers at a country music concert. Suzanne Lynch of the Irish Times is in Las Vegas and she spoke to Drivetime.

Today the former Irish Times journalist, Tom Humphries was remanded in custody to await sentencing later this month. The 54-year-old had pleaded guilty to six offences including sexual exploitation and defilement of a child. Vivienne Traynor had the details.

Sinn Fein today published their alternative Budget plans with costed plans for extra social housing, significant help for creche fees and an abolition of property tax. The party said their plans had been fully costed by the Department of Finance and would involve tax increases for only 3% of income tax payers. Fergal Keane had the details.

The US President Donald Trump says the Las Vegas gunman who killed 59 people and injured 525 more is a sick and demented man. Speaking at the White House, Mr. Trump said he would look at gun laws 'as times goes by'' but he didn't elaborate.
