The Dail resumed today for its first meeting since the election of a new government. As they arrived, TDs had to run the gauntle of protesting Gardai -- and we'll be speaking to the AGSI who organised that protest later in Drivetime. Fergal Keane was in our Dáil studio.

We've had negotiations, offers, votes and rejections and after months the Luas dispute is becoming even more entrenched. Today the Luas operator Transdev warned drivers that if the planned four hour stoppages go ahead they will lose a full day's pay. SIPTU accuses Transdev of "pouring fuel on the fire".

The position of the Garda Commissioner has remained under attack over the last 24 hours. Yesterday evening, Noirin O'Sullivan issued a statement, saying that she does not and never has regarded Sargeant Maurice McCabe as malicious. John Jacob, Gen Sec of the AGSI spoke to us.

The jury in the longest criminal trial in the history of the state has begun considering its verdict. The trial of four former bankers accused of a conspiracy to defraud lasted 75 days. Orla O'Donnell spoke to us.

Police in County Antrim have described an arms find there, as one of the "most significant in recent years". The find was made at the weekend but the PSNI have given details of the haul today. Alan Murray, journalist who writes on security matters joined us.
