Pól Ó Conghaile is a travel writer and journalist. He writes for National Geographic Traveller, The Irish Independent, Cara Magazine and The Irish Examiner amongst other publications.
Pól is a regular voice on Irish radio, contributing to RTE Radio One's Today with Pat Kenny amongst other shows, and has three times been voted Irish Travel Journalist of the Year. This is his first radio documentary.
Born in Dublin and raised in Co. Galway, Pól's adventures have taken him from the gorges of Oman to the guitar shops of Nashville, Tennessee, but was on a trip much closer to home - in Mullaghmore, Co. Sligo - that he first met Feargus Callagy, the pioneering freediver who would become the subject of Fire & Water.
