Colin Murphy is a freelance journalist and broadcaster from Dublin.
He studied politics at UCD and at the University of the Witwatersrand, and has reported from Angola, Mozambique, Morocco, and Western Sahara and the RASD, as well as the US and various European countries.
He writes a weekly column on theatre for the Irish Independent, and his radio series on theatre politics and protests in Ireland, From Stage to Street.
He writes for Le Monde Diplomatique, Prospect, the Dublin Review the Dublin Review of Books, and others.
He has made various radio documentaries for Radio France International, and his documentary film on returning to Angola, Angola After the War, was shown on RTE in 2010.
Obama on 145th Street was originally produced for the RFI programme Crossroads, with sound engineering by Ariane Gaffuri.
He is currently doing a lot less travelling, and sleeping, and spends a lot of time in playgrounds.
