Deirdre Mullins works in television production at RTÉ, and a staff travel writer with RTÉ.ie.

Working for RTÉ's television, her credits include ICE, No Frontiers, Off the Rails, For One Night Only, The Republic of Telly, The Works, and most recently Doctors on Call.

As a travel writer she received the Travel Journalist of the year international award in Mexico, and in January 2013 she was awarded a Travel Extra Travel Journalist of the Year Award in the home market category. She has also contributed to The Irish Times, Irish Independent, Outsider Magazine and Backpacker Magazine.

Deirdre directed her first short documentary in 2012. Called Going the Distance, it won the Audience Award for Best Short Film at Dingle International Film Festival.

Deirdre holds an MA in Journalism from Dublin Institute of Technology, and is a Registered General Nurse. Pregnant on My Lunch Break is her first radio documentary.
