Born in London and brought up in Lisdoonan, Co Monaghan.
Worked as gastarbeiter and travelled widely.
He's spent almost as much time outside this country as in it. Lived for a time in London. Worked in a variety of jobs in the construction industry, managed bars, worked with the homeless, washed dishes and programmed computers (briefly).
Working with Radio One for the past ten years, I've worked on all the daily programmes but principally on 5-7 Live where I was the Series Producer for a time.
Written two books, The Living Note with Christy McNamara and Hard Shoulder (New Island). Both acclaimed, as they say.
Won some awards.
Love sport and politics and people's stories.
Made my television debut with a report - based on his radio doc, This is Maria Macrae - on Prime Time in June 2009.
Most importantly I'm married to Eileen and have three children.
