Joe Kearney has worked with the Documentary on One programme for the past few years as an independent documentary maker.
He is a writer and broadcaster whose voice will be known to many radio listeners from his contributions to Sunday Miscellany and Lyric FM's Quiet Quarter.
His memoir and short fiction work has been included in numerous anthologies and been short listed for the Francis MacManus award.
Joe's documentary No Cure for Mickey Finn which was RTE's entry for 2008 Prix Europa, and awarded a prize at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York.
His documentary Bullfight at Inchicore was short listed for the Prix Europa in 2010.
In 2012 his documentary Did Michael Keogh Save Hitler? was a finalist at the Celtic Media Festival and the Prix Marulic in Croatia.
He teaches creative writing. He has recently received a PhD in Creative Writing from University College Dublin.
