The Grandfather Canoe

Two hundred years after a revered and sacred canoe disappeared from the banks of the St John River in Canada, it turned up in a building in Galway.

Brian Kenny holds a BA in Media production and Management and an MSC in Technology and Learning. He started working in Radio on Dublin's Pirate Radio scene in 1997, hosting and presenting a show with Jazz FM for 2 years. He moved to Power FM in 1998 and stayed there until the transition to www.powerfm.org in 2002. Brian has produced and engineered several music productions on Irish and UK labels both as an artist and sound engineer.

Brian made his first radio documentary in 2005 with RTE Radio 1 "Behind the Mic" and has worked freelance since then, producing pieces for I Radio, RTE Radio 1, Clare FM, Newstalk and Mid West Radio.

Alongside working freelance in Radio and Sound Production Brian regularly records and edits podcasts for several organisations. Brian completed the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Producer Master Course (nominated by RTE) in 2012.

His 2009 Documentary "Song From the Slum " (Simon Cumbers Funded) was nominated for a 2011 MAMA Award.
