A graduate of politics and history of art, Alan worked the European Commission and Dublin's Windmill Lane before moving into broadcasting.

He was researchcer on TV3's Agenda programme, and on RTE Television's The Late Late Show, before moving to RTE Radio in 2005.

Since then, he has worked on the RTE Radio Investigative Unit, Today with Pat Kenny and Drivetime.

Recently, Alan compiled and presented two series of the RTÉ Radio 1 documentary series, Whistleblowers, and moved as researcher to RTÉ Radio's Investigative Unit.

Alan has made six documentaries for The Documentary on One, produced The Business and is currently producer of The John Murray Show.
