Richie Beirne was born in Roscommon and has worked in RTE RADIO 1 since 1996.
At present he is reporting into Arena RTE's flagship Culture/entertainment/ Arts programme and will be presenting Arena over Christmas. He has also made several award wining programmes in Documentaries and Features. He has worked right across the schedule reporting into Drivetime, Pat Kenny and every year follows the professional Tour of Ireland bike race for RTE Radio Sport.
