Diarmuid McIntyre is based in Kilfinane Co. Limerick and manages Grey Heron Media which was set up in May 2007. His first production for RTE was Moths to a Flame which explored the hidden night world of mothing. It was first broadcast on RTE Radio 1 in May 2009.
Diarmuid's programmes are often driven by actuality and by the richness of peoples interactions with each other in communal situations.
Diarmuid has been joined recently in Grey Heron Media by Aisling Barrett as production assistant who worked with him on "Bright Lights, Small Village".
Involved in different aspects of Radio since his student radio days in the early 90's, Diarmuid managed the start up and early years of the Community Radio Station West Limerick 102 from 2004 to 2007. In recent years, he has been contracted as development co-ordinator to CRAOL the Community Radio forum of Ireland. Other feature work has been for Newstalk and Limericks Live95FM.
