A radio documentary that charts the progress of the Dublin based St. Brigid's Senior Football team through the 2004 AIB club championship.
St. Brigids GAA club, based in the Castleknock/Blanchardstown area of Dublin 15, was founded back in 1932.
Despite being one of the biggest GAA clubs in Ireland, it wasn't until 2003 that the senior football team captured their first ever Dublin Senior Football Championship.
The team went on to win the Leinster club championship at their first attempt.
However their dream of winning the AIB All-Ireland club title vanished in Thurles in February when they lost to An Gaeltacht of Kerry in the All-Ireland semi-final. It brought down the curtain on a whirlwind twelve months for the club.
Following their Dublin championship win, broadcaster and club member Damien O Reilly followed the teams progress through the Leinster campaign. "I travelled to the Leinster Championship first round game against Louth champions St. Pats as a spectator. Sitting in the stand with my friends, it struck me that this could be the beginning of the road to national club glory.
So I went back to the car and grabbed by tape recorder. From the noisy atmosphere that Saturday afternoon in Dowdallshill, I began recording the teams progress throughout the championship which culminated in the silence of the dressing room in Thurles in February", said Damien.
The documentary charts the progress of the St. Brigid's Senior Football team through this years AIB club campaign through the eyes of a supporter and includes interviews with players and supporters and footage from training sessions and matches.
