John Maguire has a big decision to make. He has to move home. He's 59 years of age and has lived in the same type of home since he was just two: sheltered accommodation. John uses a wheelchair and is blind.
The home he lives in now, the Cheshire Home in Monkstown, Dublin, is specially-designed for people like John living in group accommodation.
However, the Cheshire group are encouraging John and his fellow residents to move out and try living on their own.
Brian Gallagher follows John through the process of deciding what to do. Brian visits newly-built accommodation earmarked for people like John and finds that life outside an institution may not be that easy.
John knows this. He knows disabled friends who have relished the move from regimented timetable, regular mealtimes to independent living in one-bedroom apartments.
He also knows others who have missed the company of group living.
The Cheshire staff have found accommodation for John - it's now his decision - it's his move.
