A visit to a horse rescue centre in Cork in the company of the bustling Julie Waters, the centre's manager.
The ISPCA Victor Dowling Equine Rescue Centre is based in
Dromsligo, Mallow, Co Cork.
The mood is one of concern at the distress of the abandoned animals who come in and joy and playfulness with those who survive and thrive.
Julie shows Helena Crowley-Hayes a horse that was kept in a handball alley and never learnt to graze.
They saw a foal abandoned in a bog so it's mother could be milked for stud foals.
The centre's resident "lawnmowers", the 'Three Amigos' pushed their way into the tour too.
This is an edited version of a student documentary by Helena Crowley-Hayes, submitted as part of the Radio Broadcasting course at Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa, Cork.
