RTÉ Radio 1 is delighted to announce the return of its two-day training seminar in professional documentary-making for radio, to be hosted by the internationally acclaimed Documentary on One team. The course, held biannually, will run for two days on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May 2015, 9.30am – 6.00pm at the RTÉ Radio Centre, Donnybrook, Dublin.
This intensive weekend training seminar will provide an unique opportunity to look under the surface and into the ‘nuts-and-bolts’ workings of one of the world’s most successful radio documentary units.
RTÉ Radio 1’s Documentary on One team have collected almost 120 national and international awards across the globe for documentaries produced over the past 7 years.
Attendees of the course will gain an insight into all aspects of the documentary-making progress from the initial conception of an idea through to broadcast.
Given story and the art of story is central to ‘Documentary On One’ output, this Seminar is suited to radio-makers, screenwriters, novelists, journalists, playwrights, TV writers, filmmakers, directors, producers, documentary makers, advertisers and more…

Lorelei Harris - Editor of Arts, Features and Drama, RTÉ Radio 1
Lorelei has spent the bulk of her working life with RTÉ Radio 1. Previously the head of documentaries, the Documentary on One strand began life under Lorelei in the late 1980’s. Lorelei is the Head of Arts and Cultural Strategy at RTÉ and Editor of Arts, Drama and Factual for RTÉ Radio 1. Lorelei is also the current chairperson of the European Broadcasting Union group for features and radio documentaries.
Ronan Kelly - Producer, Documentary on One
Ronan Kelly has been working in RTÉ Radio since the early 1990s. Having worked across all of Radio 1, Ronan specialised in short-form documentaries (The Curious Ear) but is now focused on long form documentaries. A multi award winner, Ronan also occasionally voices TV documentaries and occassionally reports for RTÉ's Nationwide.
Ciaran Cassidy - Producer, Documentary on One
Ciaran has been working with the ‘Documentary on One’ since 2005. He has also worked across other programming within RTÉ Radio 1. Ciaran has collected many awards over the years for his radio documentary work. He occasionally works in film where he has also collected a number of awards.
Nicoline Greer - Producer, Documentary on One
Nicoline joined RTÉ in 2004 reporting and working across daytime programming on Radio 1 before joining the Documentary on One team in 2008. Nicoline has travelled extensively for her radio. A multi award winning radio documentary maker, prior to RTÉ, Nicoline was a freelance journalist and earned a B.A. in History and Politics, and an M.A. in Journalism.
Sarah Blake - Producer, Documentary on One
Sarah has been working in RTÉ Radio since 2001. She has produced in RTÉ Lyric FM, 2FM and Radio 1. Sarah graduated from the European Broadcasting Union Masterschool in Radio Features in 2009 before joinng the Documentary on One Unit that same year. She has since gone on to become a multi award winner. She holds a holds a B.A. in Music and an M.A. in Music Technology.
Liam O’Brien - Series Producer, Documentary on One
A Cork native, Liam has been working in RTÉ Radio since 2000 and is series producer of the ‘Documentary on One' since September 2008. He has worked across all radio programme formats within RTÉ Radio and garnered many awards for his radio work over the years.
