My Bones Won't Rest Here

With as many as 37 million Americans claiming Irish Ancestry, PPI News Reporter of the Year Cian McCormack tells the personal story of 82-year-old John Joseph Patrick Moylan, who like so many before and after him, left Ireland and found a new life in the United States.

Six years after meeting John Moylan for the first time in San Francisco, Cian McCormack re-unites with his elderly friend, who has returned back home for a special civic reception in his hometown - Nenagh, Co. Tipperary - honouring his life’s achievements.

But John Moylan – although he loves and misses both his and Cian’s hometown – he won’t let his bones rest here when he dies - he has already bought a grave and a headstone with his name on it in San Francisco.

Produced and narrated by Cian McCormack - 2009 PPI News Reporter of the Year

Production Supervision by Liam O'Brien
