A string of national awards and hit singles have firmly established her as the most exciting rising star on the thriving Irish country music circuit but it's hard not to feel the best is yet to come from the Balinderry native. Cliona Hagan joins Marty in studio this morning for a chat & performance.
The Irish Natura & Hill Farmers Assoociation is the newest of the farming representative bodies, having been founded in 2015. The members felt that their particular area was not being well represented by the established farm bodies. Joining Marty from our Sligo studio is Colm O'Donnell, President of the INHFA.
Sadly the story of butchers shops today is that they are closing down in towns right across the country while at the same time, Irish butchers are taking away the top food prizes in the UK & Ireland. Recently in London Hugh Maguire from Ashbourne was given the Supreme Champion Award for his smoked black pudding. Suzanne Campbell joins Marty in studio.
Vegetable seller, Johnny Curley started selling from the back of his van, 45 years ago. That first week he sold one & half tons these days Curley Quality Foods distributes 400 tons a week of fruit, veg, spices across Ireland & into Europe.
