The Moo Crew

This week, to celebrate National Dairy Week, the Agri Farm at Dublin Zoo has joined forces with the National Dairy Council to provide young people with special Farm to Fridge workshops, which aim to show the importance of the 'milk, yogurt and cheese' food group, in a fun way. Louse Devir found out more.

Farming Accidents

Last June, County Laois farmer and former ploughing champion Liam Rohan died in an accident on his farm in Shanahoe. Now his son Brian has established a support group for families and relatives of farm accident victims, the first of its kind in the country. Ulster Player Rory best got involved also.

This week, many of the country's leading agricultural contractors attended a huge farm machinery display at Gurteen Agricultural College where they viewed that later equipment available for silage harvesting


Last Saturday Stradbally Hall in Laois was a hive of activity with children, adults and all types of pigs for Ireland's first pig show in recent decades. As hobby farming and keeping of pigs at home has become more popular, the Irish Pig Society organised a show for breeders of free-range and rare breed pigs.
