The opening night of the Comedy Showhouse features two brand new shows of the 2016 PPI award-winning show for Best Radio Comedy. The Cork born writer and comedian Colm O’Regan (with comedy actors Tara Flynn and Paul Tylak plus other special guests) explores how we Irish use, abuse and amuse ourselves with the English language in our everyday lives. A unique and smart radio comedy show.

Devised by Michael Downey, this brand new comedy series Hypothetical is presented by Barry Murphy (Apres Match) along with comedy star guests Joe Rooney, Colum McDonnell, Tara Flynn and Chris Kent.

A brand new sketch comedy from award-winning writer Fiona Looney (Dandelions, Callan’s Kicks) and starring a stellar cast including Caitriona Ennis, Rose Henderson and Deirdre O’Kane.

Featuring a comedy and music mash-up, HaHa Land! with host Paddy Cullivan (Late Late Show band and the Camembert Quartet) explores melody and laughs with comedy stars Fred Cooke (the Tommy Tiernan TV Show), Tara Flynn (Ex-Nuala) and Paul Woodful (aka Ding Dong Denny O’Reilly). Warning – there may be live banter and songs.

The comedy panel show is hosted by Sean Hughes (Perrier winner, BBC’s Buzzcocks and Channel 4’s Sean’s Show). Tonight two episodes will be recorded and will star Eleanor Tiernan, Karl Spain, Fiona Looney and Fred Cooke.

Host Katherine Lynch (Dancing with Stars and Wagon’s Den) explores new Irish female comedy on stage, radio and screen with Stefanie Preissner (RTÉ’s Can’t Cope Won’t Cope), Brona C Titley (Channel 4’s Eight Out of Ten Cats) and Alison Spittle (stand up star and new RTÉ 2 series).
